Value Analytics Labs (www.valueanalyticslabs.com) is a health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and value-focused analytics firm supporting life sciences organizations across evidence generation, value strategy, and market access. We work closely with pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare organizations to address complex evidence and access challenges through rigorous analytics and practical, decision-oriented solutions. We’re looking for an RWE Data Scientist to lead and grow our capacity for real-world evidence generation.

What You’ll Do

  • Design RWE studies to meet client objectives
  • Advise on appropriate data sources and appropriate data curation
  • Combine and clean a variety of types of data
  • Design and create effective and innovative ways to visualize data through dashboards
  • Perform extensive descriptive and statistical analysis
  • Conduct external validating analysis
  • Lead manuscript and conference abstract preparation

What We’re Looking For

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as pharmacoeconomics, health policy/management, statistics, industrial engineering, operations research, economics, applied mathematics, or computer science
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python or R, and at least intermediate proficiency in the other
  • Experience with administrative claims databases (Marketscan, Komodo, Symphony,  CMS, etc.) and EHR data
  • Skilled with working with APIs and public data sources (US census, CDC PLACES, BRFSS, NHIS, NHANES, HCUP, MEPS, etc.)
  • Experience with leading dashboard development and the use of GitHub
  • Experience in leading project-related communication with clients and slide deck preparation

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL, VBA, TypeScript, CSS, and/or C++
  • Experience with unstructured data or scraping web sources
  • Understanding relationships among US geographic entities (zip codes, counties, census tracts, etc.)
  • Conceptual understanding of software engineering principles or UI design
  • Experience with leveraging LLMs and modern AI tools
